What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a drug-free, non-surgical branch of the healing arts that offers an alternative to the medical and surgical treatment for pain and diseases associated with your body's nerves, muscles and bones. If you are suffering from an injury or if your pain is due to a chronic condition, chiropractic care may be right for you.

What do Chiropractors treat?

Dr. Richard Gillespie has treated thousands of patients with symptoms such as lower back pain, pinched nerves, slipped discs, chronic headaches, knotted muscles, shoulder/back strains, and sprains.  Dr. Gillespie has had over 30 years experience in treating auto accidents, sports injuries, and chronic back pain.

What To Expect

First Visit

  • Completion of paperwork to allow the doctor to familiarize himself with your health history and the condition for which you desire care.

  • Consultation with the doctor to discuss the condition(s) which prompted you to schedule your appointment.

  • Examination by the doctor to evaluate your symptoms and to determine if chiropractic care is appropriate in your case.

  • The purpose of your first visit is to allow the doctor to establish a clinical impression of your condition, to determine if chiropractic care might benefit you, and to assess whether further diagnostics are necessary.

  • Please plan on being at our office for approximately 45 minutes for your first appointment.

Second Visit

  • On your second visit your response to the first treatment will be discussed. Depending on how you responded will determine if any additional changes to your care will have to be made.

Routine Treatment Visits

  • All subsequent visits will be very similar unless changes need to be in therapy modalities or location of therapy treatments. These treatment visits typically require 20-30 minutes, depending upon how many spinal levels are being treated.

  • We accept most insurance plans, including Blue Cross, United Health, Aetna, and Medicare. We cannot accept Medicaid, Workman’s Compensation, Auto Accident 3rd Party and PIP. Please call our office to discover if your plan is included in our many network affiliations.

  • In many cases regarding insurance plans in which we do not participate, our fees are actually less than those plans’ co-pays and co-insurance.

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash, or check.

  • For patients with no insurance or with high deductibles commonly associated with recent changes in insurance law (Obamacare), we can offer Time of Service discounts.
